MMFF chief appoints Guillen & Lizaso as new Execom members

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and concurrent Metro Manila Film Festival Chairman Danilo Lim, who is the sole authority under the MMFF law to appoint members of the MMFF Executive Committee (Execom), announced the appointment of two new addition to the Execom to represent their sectors and organizations: LAURICE GUILLEN & NICK LIZASO.

Award winning director and actress and a well respected industry leader, Guillen was the very first Chair of the Film Development Council of the Phillipines and currently the President of the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc.

Meanwhile, Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso, a renowned actor, director, and producer, working for more than 60 years in theater, television, and film, is currently the President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Chair of the National Commision on Culture and the Arts.

In a statement, Chairman Lim said he is excited on this development in MMFF as he believes in the integrity and wisdom of the two new members.

“Their track record speaks for themselves.”

Further, Lim said he is optimistic that this will set the ground for a more constructive and productive work for the MMFF Execom and assure the public that it have reached out to all the sectors to serve the best interest of the film industry.

“The appointment of Director Guillen in the MMFF execom will start a more fruitful collaboration between MMFF and Cinemalaya,” Lim added.
