The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its Provincial Science and Technology Center in Ilocos Sur, will conduct a Science and Technology (S&T) Caravan on November 18-21, 2019 at Cervantes Gymnasium.
In partnership with the local government of Cervantes, this program will be participated by local stakeholders, prospective micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the whole populace in the second district of Ilocos Sur, especially in the municipality of Cervantes.
The caravan intends to conduct technology fora that will entice potential investment opportunities on matured technologies; oversee livelihood trainings and seminars in order to provide beneficial employment or entrepreneurial opportunities; supervise technology clinics and exhibits to present programs, projects and services of DOST to people of the 2nd district; and determine and provide possible technical assistance and consultancy service to improve productivity and production process needed by MSMEs of the town.
“We are pleased to conduct this S&T Caravan in order to enrich livelihood possibilities for the people in our province,” said Mr. Ramon Sumabat, the provincial science and technology director of Ilocos Sur. He added, “We believe that through this, we, the DOST, can bring higher productivity and better quality of life for the people in Ilocos Sur.”
The activities are open to the public specially to DOST’s target clients, which include students, entrepreneurs, local government units, and other public and private sectors. (PIA-Ilocos Sur)
