Wala pang inilalabas na deployment ban ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) para samga Pilipinong nagtatrabaho sa Hong Kong dahil sa walang tigil na kilos-protesta.
Paglilinaw ni Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin itinataas ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang alert level na siyang magsisilbing basehan para sa mandatory repatriation ng mga Pilipino sa Hong Kong.
“Right now there is no communication from the DFA and even from the consulate of Hong Kong regarding the possibility of repatriation, either voluntary or mandatory.
We are in close coordination with the DFA for any development,” giit ni Bello.
Ang paglilinaw ay ginawa ni Bello dahil sa kumakalat na maling impormasyon sa mga social media posts.
“I urge the public to ignore this fake news on the internet. For those spreading it, please stop and let us not aggravate the situation and endanger our OFWs (overseas Filipino workers). We should help our OFWs there by not giving them false news about [mandatory] repatriation…” dagdag pa nito.
