Araneta City presents classic Yuletide tales to usher in Christmas Animated Display

Christmas, an occasion which elicits plenty of joy across the country, is the season most awaited among Filipinos.

In line with this, Araneta City brought back the Christmas Animated Display that’s anchored around beautiful music, stories which never go out of style, and plenty of youthful laughs.

Last November 13, the iconic show was met by The Voice Kids Grand Champion Vanjoss Bayaban, Pinoy boy band SB 19, and Kapamilya actress Loisa Andalio along with other VIP guests and officials of the Araneta City. The program for the grand launch started at 6 pm.

It drew crowds to the Times Square Food Park, which is just a stone’s throw away from its original location.

Araneta City first staged the Christmas on Display in 1966 and has since become a prominent attraction in the country’s premier lifestyle hub during Christmas until the Manila C.O.D. Department Store ceased operations in 2002.

This year’s Christmas Animated Display centered around the stories of five important figures of the Yuletide season, namely: The Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus, and the Nativity. With a beautiful backdrop and familiar characters who provide plenty of colors, each scene in the Animated Display is sure to bring plenty of smiles and laughs to its audience.

The launch had a variety of performers to provide plenty of entertainment.

Vanjoss Bayaban brought his natural singing prowess and Loisa Andalio’s bubbly personality served as a nice complement. Emerging Filipino boy group SB19 showcased their unique style that’s part Korean and Pinoy.

The Binibining Pilipinas 2019 queens also brought their beauty to the Times Square Food Park.

Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019 Emma Tiglao also co-hosted the launch.

The Christmas Animated Display has 15-minute shows from 6 pm to 10 pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and from 6 pm to 11 p m on Fridays to Saturdays until January 5.

Admission is free to the public. The festive launch comes just a week after Araneta City lit up its iconic giant Christmas tree also at Times Square Food Park.

The star-studded event, which was headlined by Anne Curtis, was witnessed by more than 25,000 people.

Aside from the Christmas Animated Display, the Times Square Food Park also houses various side activities.

There are various fun rides and booths, as well as a synthetic skating rink for the kids and kids at heart.

Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a variety of dining options meant to satisfy ones cravings. Undoubtedly, the Times Square Food Park is one of the must-visit destinations in Araneta City this Christmas.
